Information page tamplate
This manual is no longer in use. Instead, you can find guidelines and instructions for working on gu.se, the Student Portal, and the Hotel Portal in Redaktörsmanual Drupal.
The information page is one of the basic page types in Drupal. This template is used for pages centred on text and facts. The space for text in the centre column is designed to ensure a legible text width that is easily read. Unlike a rich page, an information page is often the final destination for someone looking for information. Promos from rich pages guide visitors to information pages. In their simplest form, information pages only include a header image, a summary, body text and a right-hand column containing contact information. However, an information page can also be expanded with promos, accordion functionality and more. Information pages can be made very long and used to group content previously split into several pages. If a page includes five or more H2 headings, an In-page navigation element (an index of the page content) will be displayed to enable the visitor to easily jump to the section of the page they want to read.
Header image/header video
A header image or header video can be placed at the top of an information page. This is the image that will be shown in promos linking to the page. If, however, the page does not have a header image/header video, the promo linking to the page will simply be blue.
Title
Page title/heading. This becomes the page’s H1 heading.
Introduction/summary
Field used to summarise the content of the entire page.
In-page navigation/page content
This menu is automatically created when a page contains five or more H2 headings. Remember to use the correct heading levels and not to make the headings too long. The In-page navigation element is sticky, which means that it will remain in place even when the visitor scrolls the page, so that it is always accessible.
Contact box – Contact us
All information pages have a mandatory contact box. This shall contain the contact details of the person who can answer questions about the page content.
Headings
Texts and images created in the editing tool for a rich page. The editor can determine the appearance of subheadings, images, videos, etc.
A long page is best split into different sections (indicated by a line and, optionally, a different background colour). This is done using the layout functionality in Drupal. The editor can then choose to combine text with promo blocks, images and videos.
Promo section
The focus of an information page shall be the page content. As such, it is best if any promos that link the visitor away from the page are placed further down.
