Description

To show visitors to a website the most recently published content, you can display a short blurb on the home page or any other page. The purpose of a blurbis to get the visitor interested in content published elsewhere on the site.

A blurb is comprised of a brief text, sometimes teamed with an image, which links to other content. You can use blurbs to link to internal and external web pages. Blurbs can be used with the content types “Home page”, “Rich page”, “Information page” and “Research project/group”. Blurbs can vary in appearance depending on how you use them.

This example shows you how to link to a page in an internal blurb on a rich page. Keep in mind that the length of text in the title and summary can be difficult to read for the visitor. If the summary is too long, it is broken after 94 characters and shows three points "...". These can be corrected afterwards

Do as follows:

  1. With the page open, click “Layout” in the row of tabs.

  2. Add section
Underneath the fixed fields you can create your layout by first adding what are known as sections.
    1. Click the “Add section” link. Choose a block layout.

  3. Configure section
Specify the section heading, background colour (none or grey) and whether there is to be a margin between it and the section above. This applies to all new sections with the exception of the “Full-width” type, which doesn’t have any settings.
    1. Click the blue “Add section” button.
  4. You’re now going to add an internal blurb to the section you just added.
Click the “Add component” link on the left of the two-block section. Select “Blurb – internal (link)”.

  5. Configure component
A pop-up will now open where you can configure the blurb. Click the grey “Search for content” button. Enter the text in the box that opens in the editor and click the blue “Add component” button to save.
  6. Search for the content you want to link to, check the box, scroll down and click “Select content”.
  7. Save by clicking the blue “Add component” button.
  8. Now publish the changes made to the page by selecting “Published” and clicking “Save changes”.
