This page describes how to change your academic merits and activities, that are located at the bottom of your personal page. Please note that this information is not currently displayed on the web.

Functionality on the page

The following applies to all merits and activities:

To add a new entry, click on the Add new entry button.

Click on the Delete button:

  • to delete a entry,

  • if you have added a new entry, that you do not want to save.

Note! You must click the Save academic merits button to save the deletions you make on the page.

To save changes, click on the Save academic merits (on the bottom of the web page). This saves all changes you have made under Academic merits and activities.

A confirmation that it was possible to save the academic information is displayed in the lower left of the browser tab .

An orange alert box will show up if you haven’t entered all the required data. You cannot save your changes until all mandatory information is filled out.

How to edit your academic merits and activities

Academic title

Here, your POP-administrator enters information about your academic title, e.g. “Professor”, ”Reader /Associate Professor” or “Excellent Teacher”. You cannot edit this information yourself. “Academic title” is not the same as your current position at GU or your academic degrees.

Academic degree

This is information about your academic degrees. It is entered by a POP-administrator at your department. You cannot edit this information yourself.

Research Areas

List 1-5 of your research areas.

  1. Research Area (Swedish): enter one of your research areas, in Swedish.

  2. Research Area (English): enter the same research area, but in English.

Teaching Areas

List 1-5 of your teaching areas.

  1. Teaching Area (Swedish): enter one of your teaching areas, in Swedish.

  2. Teaching Area (English): enter the same teaching area, but in English.

Academic Management Positions

Here, you enter academic management positions such as Dean, Head of Department, Director, etc.

  1. Title (Sweden): enter the Swedish title of the management position.

  2. Title (English): enter the English title of the same management position.

  3. Time period from: enter the year and month the position started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the year and month the position ended. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the position and it is ongoing.

  5. University: enter the name of the university where the position was held.

  6. Faculty/department: enter the name of the faculty or department where the position was held.

  7. Country: select the country in which the position was held.

Prizes, Awards and Commissions of Trust

Here, you can enter prizes and awards that are connected to your academic work.

  1. Title of prize, award or commission of trust (Swedish): enter a Swedish title.

  2. Title of prize, award or commission of trust (English): enter an English title.

  3. Year: Use the calendar icon to select a year when the prize or award was received. You can also type the year in the format YYYY.

  4. Organisation: enter the name of the organisation that awarded the prize.

Research Projects

Here, you enter information about ongoing, future or completed research projects. You can link to more information about the project.

  1. Title of Research Project (Swedish): if the project has different names in Swedish and English, the Swedish version of the name is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  2. Title of Research Project (English): if the project has different names in Swedish and English, the English version of the name is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the project started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the project. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the project and it is ongoing.

  5. Role: Select your project role from the list.

  6. Number of participants: if you were the project manager, state how many participants the project had.

  7. Link: here you can add a link to more information about the project.

Organised Conference, Workshop, Symposium or Seminar

Here, you enter information about conferences and other academic events that you have arranged (yourself or in cooperation with others).

  1. Title (Swedish): if the event has different names in Swedish and English, the Swedish version of the name is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  2. Title (English): if the event has different names in Swedish and English, the English version of the name is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the event started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the event. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the event and it is ongoing.

Applied for External Research Grant or Scholarship

Here, you enter information about research grants or scholarships that you have applied for.

  1. Funder (Swedish): enter the name of the Funder. If the funder has different names in Swedish and English, the Swedish version is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  2. Funder (English): enter the name of the Funder. If the funder has different names in Swedish and English, the English version is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  3. Year: use the calendar icon to select a year when you applied. You can also type the year in the format YYYY.

  4. Granted: check the box if you were granted the scholarship or research grant.

  5. If granted, amount: enter amount

Participated in Pedagogical Projects or Developed new Pedagogical Concepts

Here, you enter information about participation in pedagogical projects or in the development of new pedagogical concepts, for example flipped classroom, development of subject or/and projects in cooperation with PIL.

  1. Description (Swedish): describe the activity you participated in, in Swedish.

  2. Description (Enligsh): describe the activity you participated in, in English.

  3. Year: use the calendar icon to select a year. You can also type the year in the field in the format YYYY.

Editor for Journal

Here, you enter information about your assignments as an editor or member of the editorial board for a journal.

  1. Name of journal (Swedish): enter the name of the journal. If the journal has different names in Swedish and English, the Swedish version is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  2. Name of journal (English): enter the journal of the Funder. If the journal has different names in Swedish and English, the English version is entered in this field, otherwise the same name is entered in both fields 1 and 2.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

  5. Role: select the role you had in the assignment.

Member of Research Board

Here, you enter information about your assignments as a member of research councils within universities, foundations or public entities.

  1. Description (Swedish): describe your assignment, in Swedish.

  2. Description (English): describe your assignment, in English.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

Supervision of PhD or Licentate Student

Here, you enter your assignments as Head supervisor or Co-supervisor.

  1. Name of PhD or licentiate student (Swedish): enter the name of the person you have supervised.

  2. Name of PhD or licentiate student (English): enter the name of the person you have supervised.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

  5. Role: select the role you had in the assignment.

Discussant of Examiner of PhD or Licentiate Thesis

Here you enter your assignments as an discussant of member of examination board.

  1. Name of student (Swedish): enter the name of the student.

  2. Name of student (English): enter the name of the student.

  3. Year: use the calendar icon to select a year. You can also type the year in the field in the format YYYY.

  4. University: enter the name of the university where the assignment took place.

  5. Role: select the role you had in the assignment.

Other Academic Assignments

Here, you can enter information about other academic assignments such as reviewer assignment, or assignments in committees, networks, organisations and associations.

  1. Description (Swedish): describe your assignment, in Swedish.

  2. Description (English): describe your assignment, in English.

  3. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  4. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

  5. Organisation: enter the name of the organisation where the assignment took place.

Experience outside of Academia within the Field

Here, you describe assignments outside academia where you participate as an expert within your field.

  1. Experience outside of Academia within the field: choose the type of assignment in question:

    • Long term consultancy work - consultancy work within the private sector or public institutions.

    • Regulation or Public Policy work - for example participation in referral process for new legislation.

    • Board Member in corporation or public entity.

    • Other

  2. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  3. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

  4. Organisation: enter the name of the organisation where the assignment took place.

Teaching in Professional Setting

Here, you enter information about teaching assignments within Executive Education or other professional setting.

  1. Description (Swedish): describe your assignment, in Swedish.

  2. Description (English): describe your assignment, in English.

  3. Organisation: enter the name of the organisation where the assignment took place.

  4. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  5. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

Interaction with Society

Here, you describe activities where you as an academic participate in the public discourse.

  1. Outreach activity: choose the type of activity in question:

    • Participation in media

    • Participation in public science seminar

    • Other cooperation with society

  2. Description (Swedish): describe the activity, in Swedish.

  3. Description (English): describe the activity, in English.

  4. Year: use the calendar icon to select a year. You can also type the year in the field in the format YYYY.

International Experience

Here, you enter information about your academic and other international work experience.

  1. International experience: choose type of experience:

    • Academic position at international university - if you have had employment as doctoral student, researcher, professor etc. at a non-Swedish university. Please note that management positions should be entered under “Academic Management Positions”.

    • Participation in international network - academic or non-academic international network (for example network with other universities within a discipline).

    • Participation in international research exchange - for example Visiting Professor, visiting fellow etc. Both incoming and outgoing.

    • Other international experience - other international work experience, such as employment in the private sector, public institutions etc.

  2. Description (Swedish): describe the activity, in Swedish.

  3. Description (English): describe the activity, in English.

  4. Time period from: enter which year and month the assignment started. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM.

  5. Time period to: enter the end year and month for the assignment. You can select the year and month from the calendar icon, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM. The field can be left blank if there is no end date for the assignmentand it is ongoing.

  6. University: enter the name of the university where the activity took place.

  7. Organisation: enter the name of the organisation (if not a university) where the activity took place.

  8. Country: select the country in which the activity took place.

  9. City: select the city in which the activity took place.

Save changes

To save changes, click on the Save academic merits (on the bottom of the web page). This saves all changes you have made under Academic merits and activities.
