The University of Gothenburg’s external website, www.gu.se, to be launched in June 2020, will be a shared website for the university where we gather information under shared entry pages. The website will be search-based, and the content will be tagged with categories to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
Several key principles for the new website have been established in the web development project:
The website will be centred on user needs, not the organisation’s structure.
www.gu.se is a shared external website for the University of Gothenburg. The core content will be gathered under shared entry pages.
Clearer and simpler information structure with fewer but longer pages.
Search and filter tools central to helping visitors to navigate the website.
The new website is modular and based on several modules/components that are used for all pages.
More templates for different content types to improve clarity and make things easier for editors and visitors alike.
Promos, buttons and colours used to draw attention to important content and encourage action (course application, contact search, etc.).
News and Events – new gathering place for news, events and popular science.
Simple and flexible for editors. Information updated in one place only.
